Advanced Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for Reliable Navigation in Challenging Operational Environments

Advanced Navigation is a global leader in Assured PNT (positioning, navigation and timing). The company creates navigation solutions and autonomous systems that deliver the utmost in precision and reliability across the land, air, sea, and space domains.

All products are ITAR-free, ensuring a secure, scalable supply chain for global allies. The intelligent hardware provides exceptional performance even where GNSS signals are denied or contested.

Advanced inertial navigation systems

Advanced Navigation’s INS deliver reliable navigation even in the most challenging operational environments, providing accurate position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation for tactical autonomous and crewed platforms with low SWaP-C.

The rugged sensors are equipped with sophisticated electronic protection that has been specifically designed to ensure mission continuity and resistance against electromagnetic warfare threats, countering the global rise in GNSS jamming and spoofing.

The company’s product ranges, which have been trusted by major defense organisations worldwide including Rheinmetall, BAE, Hanwha, Lockheed Martin, Leonardo and NASA, include:

Boreas Series: A rugged Fibre-Optic Gyroscope (FOG) INS featuring a north-seeking gyrocompass, making it ideal for dependable navigation in harsh and GNSS-denied environments.

Certus Series: Utilizes ultra-high accuracy Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) technology in a low SWaP-C form factor.

Boreas A & D Series

High-accuracy FOG INS with north-seeking gyrocompassing

The Boreas A and D Series are rugged FOG-based inertial navigation systems featuring north-seeking gyrocompassing for highly accurate heading and orientation without the need for GNSS signals or magnetometers. The Boreas D Series provides options for multi-band and all-band GNSS receivers as well as enhanced electronic protection to counter jamming and spoofing. A Series sensors provide heading and orientation as an AHRS and INS, and can provide full positioning and navigation capabilities when provided with an external position source.

The low-SWaP sensors are ruggedized for extreme environments, with IP67-rated ingress protection and high levels of resilience to shock, vibration and EMI. The comprehensive set of I/O options includes Ethernet, CAN, RS232, 1PPS, RS422, and GPIOs.

Certus Evo

MEMS-based GNSS-aided INS with AI-powered sensor fusion

Certus Evo ultra-high accuracy MEMS GNSS-INSCertus Evo is an ultra-high-accuracy MEMS-based GNSS/INS that provides FOG-like performance in a low SWaP footprint.

Featuring a cutting-edge AI-powered sensor fusion algorithm, it outputs mission-critical position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation data under the most challenging of conditions.

The rugged sensor incorporates a dual-antenna RTK GNSS receiver, delivering centimeter-level positioning accuracy as well as heading that is not impacted by magnetic interference and has no motion requirements. It also features a GNSS-disciplined oscillator that can act as the primary time source within a distributed system, enabling access to ultra-accurate time using PTP or NTP.

Certus Mini D

Ultra-miniature MEMS-based GNSS-aided INS with safety-critical RTOS

Certus Mini D Ultra-miniature MEMS GNSS-INSThe Certus Mini D is an ultra-miniature MEMS-based GNSS/INS that delivers mission-critical position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation data under highly demanding conditions.

With L1/L5 GPS and dual antennas, it consistently maintains accurate heading without the need for magnetic calibration, and is unaffected by magnetic interference.

The low-SWaP sensor has been built with a safety-oriented RTOS, and all software is designed and tested to high safety standards with fault-tolerance in mind. A revolutionary AI-powered sensor fusion algorithm offers robust health monitoring and instability prevention to ensure stable and reliable data.
