Silicon Sensing has announced the production of its 30 millionth inertial sensor, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Since its founding in 1999, Silicon Sensing has supplied inertial sensors and systems to a wide range of global markets, including robotics, industrial production, marine, aerospace, defence, transport, and space.
David Somerville, General Manager of Silicon Sensing, said, “The production of 30 million sensors is an immense accomplishment for our team. Achieving this milestone has required substantial engineering expertise, continuous process refinement, sustained innovation, clear long-term commitment and considerable financial investment. Together, these factors have enabled us to maximise production whilst maintaining exceptional product performance.”
The company specializes in high-performance gyros, accelerometers, Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), and combi-sensors, all based on its patented Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. Its product portfolio features market-leading IMUs and gyros that deliver exceptional performance, often rivaling much larger, heavier, and less robust Fibre Optic (FOG) and Dynamically Tuned Gyro (DTG) systems.
All products are manufactured in Silicon Sensing’s in-house production facilities, enabling high-volume output while meeting the complex requirements and rigorous standards demanded by diverse industries.
