Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions company specializing in inertial navigation systems and sensor fusion technologies for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, has successfully renewed its AS9100:2016 quality management certification.
The renewal audit was conducted by DQS Inc., an ANAB-accredited body under the International Aerospace Quality Group’s ICOP scheme, pursuant to AS9104/1 standards. Under registration number 31635585 AS0016A, the certificate lists Viavi Solutions, Inc. as the central function, with Inertial Labs’ two primary domestic sites covered as organizational units. The certification remains valid until September 14, 2029, following its original issuance on September 15, 2026.
AS9100 adds aerospace-specific requirements on top of ISO 9001 standards, incorporating stringent mandates for traceability, risk management, and configuration control. Because these quality standards are frequently required by aviation, space, and defense programs prior to supplier qualification, maintaining compliance is vital for high-reliability military and commercial contracts.
The certified scope covers engineering and production operations across both corporate locations. The Paeonian Springs, Virginia facility is certified for the design, development, and manufacture of position and orientation tracking systems that combine inertial sensors with other sensing technologies, encompassing the company’s INS, IMU, AHRS, and sensor fusion lines. Meanwhile, the Rapid City, South Dakota facility is certified specifically for the design and manufacture of high-performance, low-drift IMUs.
Together, these facilities produce navigation systems and GNSS-denied solutions, including product lines such as RESEPI LiDAR, EchoONE, APNT, VINS, IRINS, and CheetahNAV.
Certificate validity can be verified through its integrated QR code, found on the Inertial Labs website.
