IRINS from Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions Inc. company, is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO)-aided Inertial Navigation System (INS) engineered for reliable performance across land, sea, and air domains within denied, degraded, and disrupted space operating environments (D3SOE). The system fuses inertial, heading, and LEO-based PNT capabilities within a single embedded platform, offering resilient Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (A-PNT). Drawing on Inertial Labs’ field-proven inertial systems and Jackson Labs’ precision timing technologies, IRINS represents a unified step forward in countering spoofing, jamming, and GNSS denial threats affecting military and critical infrastructure operations.
By integrating a tactical-grade MEMS IMU, AHRS, and the STL-2600 Iridium LEO receiver, IRINS delivers continuous and secure navigation and timing data without reliance on GNSS. The device includes an embedded GNSS receiver with a Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) port to detect and reject interference while maintaining precise situational awareness. The unit meets IP67 and MIL-STD-810G standards and is housed in a compact enclosure. With embedded barometers, magnetometers, and optional air-data computation, IRINS ensures operational accuracy and continuity in contested environments requiring trusted PNT solutions.
