The HD45-LV-CZ gimbal from Trillium Engineering has received AUVSI Green UAS Certification due to the submission of SkyFront’s Perimeter 8 and 8+ long-endurance, hybrid-electric uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).
The Green UAS Certification, managed by the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), focuses on verifying the cybersecurity and compliance of commercial systems with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) supply chain requirements.
The Green UAS framework, an extension of the Blue UAS certification program, caters to customers who do not require immediate DoD authority to operate (ATO). It offers drones that are Green UAS certified a simplified transition to Blue UAS certification, provided they acquire a DoD sponsor.
The HD45-LV-CZ gimbal achieving AUVSI’s Green UAS Certification marks a significant step towards enhancing its trust within the drone industry.
This certification is key to reassuring users that the certified systems meet rigorous cybersecurity standards and are built with components from trusted sources. For Trillium, this streamlines the vetting process, making the HD45-LV-CZ gimbal more suitable for commercial and governmental applications prioritizing strong cybersecurity.
The process of achieving Green UAS Certification involves a detailed assessment including security control evaluations, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing.
Successful certification places the HD45 on the Green UAS cleared list, and on the Blue UAS Framework List, publicly acknowledging its compliance and security, enhancing customer trust, and increasing visibility for Blue UAS systems.
The broader goal for Trillium engaging with the Green UAS program is not only to ensure product security and compliance, but also to participate in an evolving ecosystem where such certifications are increasingly becoming a benchmark for quality and reliability in the uncrewed systems sector.
