Aeron Systems Pollux is an advanced micro-miniature Inertial Navigation System (INS) engineered to meet the demanding precision and reliability requirements of modern Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
As drones transition from niche military and surveying tools to indispensable assets in logistics, agriculture, disaster response, and infrastructure inspection, the importance of resilient and accurate navigation systems has never been greater. Pollux delivers this capability in a compact, lightweight package designed to enhance UAV performance without compromising endurance.
At its core, Pollux is a GNSS-aided INS capable of providing accurate navigation data even in GPS-denied environments. By integrating Aeron’s advanced Kalman filter-based estimation engine with high-speed MEMS sensor technology and multi-constellation GNSS, Pollux delivers position, ground speed, and orientation information with 1000Hzs IMU data, and 200Hz navigation data. The system enables reliable indoor navigation and precise maneuvering in complex urban areas where GNSS signals are obstructed or vulnerable to interference.
Weighing only 40 grams and measuring 35 x 35 x 17.5mm, Pollux represents one of the smallest full-fledged INS solutions available. Its minimal size and power consumption, approximately lower than 1.5W, making it ideal for UAVs where battery capacity and payload weight are critical constraints. Beyond navigation, Pollux significantly enhances drone stabilization, ensuring imaging and mapping payloads capture distortion-free data regardless of flight conditions.
Engineered to meet the rugged standards required for defense and aerospace platforms, Pollux features MIL-qualified hardware, high shock tolerance (1500g shock survival), low-noise IMU performance, and compatibility with leading flight controllers such as Ardupilot and PX4. With built-in spoofing and jamming detection, as well as counterfeit protection, Pollux provides the reliability and security essential for next-generation autonomous systems.
By combining affordability with advanced navigation resilience, Aeron Systems’ Pollux positions itself as an enabling technology for scalable, dependable, and mission-ready UAV deployments.
