Product Spotlight: MIPS 2

Advanced USBL tracking system for subsea naval applications

MIPS 2 is the latest generation of our advanced USBL Mobile Integrated Positioning Systems, offering accurate and highly stable tracking and positioning of naval assets such as ROVs, AUVs and divers. Specifically approved for military use, the compact and rugged transceiver is also ideal for mine countermeasures (MCM) and vessel underhull inspection.

The MIPS 2 features integrated pitch, roll, heading, depth and temperature sensors, and can be easily integrated into a variety of platforms via a high-speed serial link. It is available in two variants, offering either hemispherical or directional acoustic footprints.

USBL Systems

The Easytrak range of Ultra Short Baseline (USBL) systems ensures reliable and precise tracking of multiple simultaneous naval assets, including divers, ROVs, AUVs and towfish. The ultra-reliable systems are also ideal for UXO and mine survey positioning, vessel inspection, and tactical seabed mapping.

Featuring built-in pitch, roll and heading sensors to compensate for vessel movement, the Easytrak line offers a variety of options to suit differing mission requirements. Products include:

• Vesta – compact entry-level system with 995m range
• Nexus 2 Lite – cost-effective tracking of up to 10 simultaneous targets

Submersible GNSS & Satellite Positioning

The MiniPod line of submersible GNSS receivers provides precise surface positioning and remote monitoring for naval UUVs and ROVs, as well as UXO crawler robots, towed sensors, seismic sources, and other equipment. The rugged receivers are designed for ultra-reliable operation in the harsh marine conditions of the transition zone.

Sub-Bottom Profiling Solutions

Our comprehensive range of sub-bottom profiling solutions is ideal for detection of buried sea mines, UXO (unexploded ordnance), and other hazardous threats that may otherwise be invisible to regular detection methods. These products are also highly suited to tactical seabed terrain mapping applications such as planning of covert operations.

The industry-leading products, which include the HydraSeis multi-channel streamer, hydrophones, and seismic energy sources such as boomers and sparkers, create a 2D picture of the geology beneath the seabed. Thanks to their modular and versatile design, components can be combined to suit specific environmental requirements such as coastal or deep waters and soft sediment or harder rock.
