Micropol Fiberoptic recently introduced three additions to its FALCON product family, combining expanded beam fiber optic technology with the widely adopted MIL-DTL-38999 connector footprint.
The new lineup includes the FALCON Mini SQ 38999 FP, the FALCON Mini D-Hole 38999 FP, and the FALCON 38999 Expanded Beam Connectors in sizes 11 and 13. Designed for demanding environments where reliability is critical, the new solutions combine high optical performance with simplified system integration.
By maintaining the footprint of a standard size 11 MIL-DTL-38999 connector, the FALCON Mini SQ and Mini D-Hole variants allow system designers and engineers to upgrade existing equipment to expanded beam technology without redesigning existing panels or equipment. Both variants can also connect directly to tactical cables equipped with compatible expanded beam connectors, eliminating the need for adapters and simplifying field deployment.
All connectors feature Micropol’s FALCON expanded beam lenses, supporting reliable operation in contaminated environments. The technology delivers insertion loss below 1.2 dB, transfer speeds up to 40 Gbit/s, and support for both single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
