OptiScan from Micropol is a rugged optical fiber measurement tool designed to verify performance in tactical communication networks. Developed and tested in collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces, it enables fast and reliable validation that each fiber channel meets acceptable attenuation thresholds. Supporting both Loop Mode for immediate functional approval and Link Mode for detailed diagnostics, the tool ensures operational readiness across mission-critical infrastructure.
Capable of simultaneously testing up to 12 channels in under a minute, OptiScan significantly reduces verification time compared to conventional optical power meters. It measures serially connected cable reels, including while still on the spool, and supports a wide range of connector types such as FALCON™, PROCON™, HMA, and HMC. Its compact form factor, IP65 rating, and 30-hour battery life make it suitable for single-operator use in demanding field conditions, maintaining network assurance from pre-deployment through active operations.
