ARK Electronics has introduced its ARK Jetson PAB V3 with Modalix MLSoC Bundle, combining flight control and high performance edge AI computing in an integrated platform for unmanned systems and autonomous robotics.
The bundle brings together the ARK Jetson PAB V3 Carrier, an ARKV6X Flight Controller, a SiMa.ai Modalix System on Module (SOM), and a heatsink and fan. This configuration provides system developers with a compact hardware foundation for applications requiring onboard AI processing alongside reliable flight control.
At the heart of the platform is SiMa.ai’s Modalix SOM, which delivers up to 50 TOPS of multimodal AI performance at sub 10W. The module is pin compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX and Nano platforms, while its integrated eMMC storage allows the system to boot and operate without requiring a separate SSD. An optional NDAA compliant 480GB NVMe SSD is also available for applications requiring additional onboard storage.
The Modalix SOM and ARKV6X flight controller are integrated through the ARK Jetson PAB V3 architecture, enabling AI compute and flight control within a single stack. Ethernet connectivity between the SOM and flight controller supports communication between the two processing environments, making the bundle suited to autonomous UAV applications where processing capability, power efficiency and system integration are key considerations.
The complete configuration weighs 196.5g without the optional SSD and measures 11.6 × 7.2 × 3.72cm. The Modalix SOM provides 50 TOPS of AI performance at sub 10W, supporting AI enabled edge applications while helping to maintain a low size, weight and power profile.
The bundle is intended for drone OEMs, system integrators and robotics developers developing autonomous platforms for commercial, industrial, agricultural and defense applications. ARK Electronics states that its carriers are manufactured in the USA and designed to support trusted hardware requirements.
