Brandywine MMC Modular Master Clock SystemIn today’s contested environments, it is critical that systems are hardened to provide assurance on the modern battlefield. Brandywine’s Modular Master Clock (MMC) offers aPNT protection through its TimeWall™ technology, providing protection against GNSS spoofing attacks.

Brandywine’s MMC utilizes a modular systems approach, offering up to 12 hot-swappable, field-upgradeable Output Signal Modules (OSMs). With OSMs for pulse, time of day, frequency, and network timing, the system can be configured to meet a wide variety of requirements.

The OSMs allow the MMC’s capabilities to be expanded or upgraded as mission requirements change, evolve, or as new technology is developed. This true modular approach makes the MMC from Brandywine one of the most versatile and future-proof master clocks available.

The MMC also offers the capability to provide full redundancy for critical architecture. The Master Clock Modules (MCMs), oscillators, and power supplies can each be paired with a backup, providing automatic failover. One box, two clocks, available in either a 1U or 2U 19-inch rackmount form factor.

Brandywine PTU Portable timing systemThe Portable Timing Unit (PTU) is a battery-operated, transportable timing system designed to provide precise time of day at the point of use. The PTU can be automatically synchronized via GNSS using the integrated GNSS antenna, or by a serial time code such as IRIG-B or Have Quick. Using a highly accurate rubidium oscillator, built-in GNSS antenna, and battery, the PTU can be placed anywhere with a clear view of the sky to synchronize and lock to GNSS. The disciplined reference source can then be carried indoors, such as into an aircraft hangar, providing sub-microsecond accuracy to UTC over a 24-hour period.

The PTU provides a variety of output signals, including HQ, IRIG-A, IRIG-B, IRIG-E, IRIG-G, 1PPS, and NTP, with the option to synchronize critical systems requiring valid time of day (TOD) at startup for faster mission deployment.

Brandywine HPTS High Performance Timing SystemThe High Performance Timing System (HPTS) is a next-generation network-centric frequency and timing system that provides inherent 10ns accuracy, making it ideal as a master clock for mission-critical military applications. The dual-redundant and modular system utilizes a proprietary architecture that allows automatic compensation of propagation delay.

Utilizing a basic input reference from a GPS receiver or other external source, the HPTS is equipped with two MCMs that each contain a rubidium or ovenized quartz oscillator, and outputs time and frequency signals in a wide variety of analog and digital formats. The ruggedized unit is fully qualified for airborne, shipboard, and land applications.

Brandywine PTS M-Code compatible time and frequency instrumentThe Precision Timing System (PTS M-Code) is a compact timing and frequency instrument that features an internal rubidium oscillator to ensure the utmost in accuracy, as well as a 12-channel P(Y) code SAASM/M-Code GPS receiver. Available in single or dual-redundant configurations, it is ideal for military communication systems and network time servers.

A precision 1PPS time mark is available for synchronizing or calibrating other systems. Synchronization can be distributed to other computers, displays and equipment via IRIG B serial time code.

The unit’s Ethernet port is used both for monitoring and control as well as NTP, and the intuitive web-based interface also provides information on GPS, internal monitoring of time errors, and atomic oscillator parameters.

3U VPX Radial Clock

The Brandywine 3U VPX Timing Card provides commonality through alignment with SOSA standards for the SOSA Timing Slot Profiles SLT3x-TIM-2S1U22S1U2U1H-14.9.2-X and SOSA Timing Module Profiles MOD3x-TIM-2S1U22S1U2U1H-16.9.2-X, providing confidence in its ability to serve as a plug-and-play option for any SOSA/MOSA-aligned system.

Versatility is provided through 11 fully programmable paired AUX and REF radial clocks. Each AUX_CLK can be programmed for a specific pulse rate, such as 1PPx, while the REF_CLK frequency output can be programmed anywhere between 10 MHz and 3 GHz. Through additional options available on the VITA 67.3C aperture, requirements for low phase noise 10 MHz sinewave output or additional analog pulse or time code I/Os can be easily met.

Designed for telecommunications, satellite systems, and mission-critical military platforms, this 1U rackmount solution delivers ultra-stable 10 MHz and 1PPS outputs, IRIG and Have Quick time codes, and full NTP/SNMP network integration.

With GNSS-based timekeeping and advanced oscillator options, including HSOCXO and rubidium, the NFS-220 ensures holdover accuracy even in GNSS-denied environments. Independently adjustable 1PPS outputs with <1 ns resolution, along with low phase noise 10 MHz outputs, make the system well suited to distributed and high-precision deployments.

Time Code Processor Brandywine CommunicationsThe Time Code Processor (TCP) is a reduced SWaP, airborne-qualified precision disciplined clock that combines the functions of a time code reader, time code generator, and time format translator into a single precision clock. As a reader, the unit features an optional internal GNSS receiver that can be used as a reference time source. It is also capable of using PPS, IRIG, PTTI, NTP, NMEA, and PTP as external reference clock sources.

As a time code generator, the TCP provides time in xPPS, IRIG (AM or DCLS), PTTI, NMEA-0183, NTP (RFC 5905), or PTP (IEEE 1588) formats. The TCP can also be fitted with an optional CSAC oscillator to support extended holdover and SWaP requirements, as well as battery backup or an M-Code receiver.
