ASELSAN welcomed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to its Gölbaşı Technology Base in Ankara, where the company showcased its latest multi-domain defense technologies and advanced manufacturing capabilities ahead of the NATO Leaders’ Summit to be held in Ankara in July.
During the visit in April, ASELSAN presented its comprehensive portfolio of integrated defense solutions designed to address the evolving requirements of modern warfare. Demonstrations focused on the company’s capabilities across air, land, naval, and electronic warfare domains, highlighting its system-level approach to delivering interoperable and mission-ready technologies.
Among the key technologies showcased were the Steel Dome multi-layered air defense architecture, drone defense solutions, land systems, naval technologies, electronic warfare capabilities, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) payloads. The program emphasized how these technologies work together as part of an integrated defense ecosystem capable of meeting a wide range of operational requirements.
The NATO delegation also toured ASELSAN’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and final assembly lines, where the company demonstrated its advanced serial production capabilities. Visitors were shown the production of key components for the Steel Dome architecture, alongside flagship systems from ASELSAN’s core technology portfolio, highlighting the company’s ability to deliver high-volume, high-quality defense systems supported by advanced engineering and manufacturing expertise.
As part of the visit, Secretary General Rutte met with ASELSAN’s young engineers to learn more about the company’s innovation-driven culture and its investment in developing next-generation defense technologies through highly skilled talent.
Reflecting on the visit during remarks ahead of the NATO Leaders’ Summit, Rutte highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s defense industry and praised ASELSAN’s contribution to the Alliance’s technological capabilities.
Rutte commented, “This spring, I spoke with talented young engineers at ASELSAN, Türkiye’s largest defense electronics company. They are driving Türkiye’s defense industrial revolution, which will benefit every member of our Alliance.”
Addressing the changing security environment and the increasing challenges facing NATO, Rutte emphasized the importance of a strong and innovative defense industrial base in strengthening the Alliance’s collective capabilities.
