Honeywell Aerospace and ST Engineering’s Defence Aerospace business have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaborative support for defense aviation operators throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
This initiative focuses on evaluating potential solutions for the retrofit, modification, upgrade, and sustainment of military aircraft. The partnership seeks to combine the advanced aerospace technologies of Honeywell with the extensive defense aviation engineering and maintenance, repair, and overhaul expertise of ST Engineering.
Central to the agreement is the assessment of opportunities to establish a dedicated center of excellence for retrofits, modifications, and upgrades. The companies also intend to explore the development of local maintenance capabilities specifically for Honeywell’s avionics systems.
Sathesh Ramiah, vice president, Defense and Space, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace, commented, “As defense modernization needs across Asia Pacific continue to evolve, this MOU reflects Honeywell’s strategic intent to expand support with trusted regional industry leaders. By aligning Honeywell’s advanced aerospace technologies with ST Engineering’s strong local capabilities, we are exploring ways to support long-term mission readiness, resilience and sustainment for defense operators in the region.”
Daniel Ho, senior vice president, head of strategic planning, Defence Aerospace, ST Engineering, added, “Working with Honeywell underscores our focus on strengthening regional defense aviation capabilities through advanced engineering and sustainment solutions. The MOU provides a framework to explore how our combined expertise can support evolving operational needs across Asia Pacific.”
