ANELLO Photonics and Mythos AI have entered a strategic collaboration to accelerate the deployment of plug-and-play navigation solutions designed specifically for the maritime sector.

This partnership combines ANELLO’s Silicon Photonics Optical Gyroscope (SiPhOG) technology with Mythos AI’s autonomy software to address the increasing risks associated with GNSS disruptions. As maritime operations transition toward greater autonomy, the ability to maintain navigation continuity during accidental or intentional satellite signal interference has become a strategic priority for both commercial and defense applications.
The collaboration centers on a multi-mission open systems architecture intended to scale across various vessel classes. By integrating advanced inertial sensing with AI-driven sensor fusion, the companies aim to establish a benchmark for GPS-independent performance that does not increase technical integration complexity for manufacturers. The ANELLO Maritime INS is a key component of this approach, built to support widespread maritime standards and allow for rapid compatibility with legacy and next-generation platforms.
The initiative is particularly focused on the Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) market, where dependable navigation is essential for missions ranging from offshore energy and hydrography to maritime security. A resilient, GPS-independent capability provides these platforms with greater operational assurance and enhanced mission continuity during signal disruptions while reducing the overall development burden for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Dr. Mario Paniccia, Co-founder and CEO of ANELLO Photonics, stated, “Maritime autonomy depends on trusted navigation. As GNSS vulnerabilities become more visible globally, operators are seeking complete solutions that ensure mission continuity. By collaborating with Mythos AI, we are aligning ANELLO’s SiPhOG-based inertial technology with Mythos AI’s intelligent autonomy to provide a plug-and-play solution for resilient, GPS-independent maritime operations.”
Geoff Douglass, CEO of Mythos AI, added, “True autonomy requires more than just sensors – it requires intelligent integration. Working with ANELLO allows us to combine advanced inertial performance with AI-driven decision-making in a way that is practical and scalable for the maritime industry. Together, we are helping platform developers accelerate deployment while strengthening operational resilience.”
As maritime fleets continue to modernize, this partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward multi-layered navigation architectures that remove reliance on any single signal source. ANELLO Photonics, known for its solid-state, high-precision inertial navigation systems, and Mythos AI will continue to work with integrators and end users to align these integrated solutions with evolving regulatory and operational requirements.
