Volatus Aerospace has completed its acquisition of Lithuania-based AISPECO UAB, expanding its airborne sensor technology, flight-management software and manufacturing capabilities.
The acquisition brings ownership of AISPECO’s sensor integration platforms, onboard electronics and mission software into Volatus’ existing aviation operations, manufacturing capabilities and international customer network. The company intends to use these technologies to expand its higher-value aerial intelligence services and pursue opportunities across commercial, infrastructure, defense and security markets.
AISPECO’s portfolio includes HELIUX modular sensor pods, the FOCUS AI-guided gimbal, CORE electronics and ROBINCOP flight-management software. The company has an established commercial business serving utility inspection, forestry, surveying, mapping and infrastructure monitoring applications, alongside sales activity involving systems intended for defense and border surveillance.
The technologies also support applications ranging from Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) to geospatial intelligence, energy and infrastructure inspection.
Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus, commented, “This acquisition brings us closer to delivering a complete, end-to-end aerial intelligence ecosystem. By integrating AISPECO’s proprietary sensors and software with our aircraft platforms and operational capabilities, we can accelerate innovation, strengthen our technology base and deliver more comprehensive solutions to defence, industrial and commercial customers worldwide.”
The acquisition also adds an engineering and manufacturing base in Lithuania, a NATO and European Union member country. This European presence complements Volatus’ existing manufacturing operations in Canada and supports its plans to expand into European and allied markets, while creating further opportunities for technology integration and development in Canada.
