Allient Inc., a global designer and manufacturer of advanced specialty motion, controls, and power products, has introduced the Vyxalon Apex Drone Drive, a next-generation electronic speed controller engineered for professional drone propulsion systems.
As the latest addition to the Allient Intelligent Controls platform, the drive combines Gallium Nitride (GaN) power technology with high-speed sensorless and encoder-based Field-Oriented Control (FOC). This architecture is built to deliver high propulsion efficiency, flight performance, and operational reliability for mission-critical unmanned aerial system (UAS) applications. Operating in demanding environments, the unit offers thermal and energy efficiency, low noise and vibration, and field-programmable tuning aimed at maximizing flight range, uptime, and mission-specific configurability.
Featuring compact electronics alongside advanced protection and diagnostic capabilities, the electronic speed controller supports multiple communication interfaces. These features suit the drive for drone platforms across defense, industrial, robotics, and agriculture sectors. Additionally, the unit will meet National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) supply chain requirements and will be included in the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Blue UAS Framework and Catalog.
“The Vyxalon™ Apex Drone Drive is a significant step forward in our commitment to precision motion control for unmanned systems,” said Jesse Dowd, General Manager of Allient Rochester. “As drone technology advances, our customers require higher efficiency, power density, and reliability in mission-critical environments. The Apex Drone Drive delivers exactly that, giving next-generation UAS platforms the performance edge they need.”
