The Vyxalon™ Apex Drone Drive is an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) designed for professional defense and government UAV propulsion systems. Combining Gallium Nitride (GaN) power technology with high-speed Field-Oriented Control (FOC), it provides precise, responsive motor management while reducing power losses and heat generation. Powered by Allient Intelligent Controls (AiC), the controller operates with PWM switching at up to 100 kHz and 25 kHz current and velocity control loops, with support for both sensorless and encoder-based FOC. A zero-to-full-speed acceleration time of 0.5 seconds enables rapid response to motor commands, while active braking, propeller position holding, and stall recovery with maintained field orientation provide additional control capabilities for mission-critical UAV operation.

The GaN architecture can reduce energy losses by up to 56% compared with conventional silicon MOSFET designs, supporting more efficient use of onboard electrical power in defense UAVs, including heavy-payload and long-endurance platforms. Compact GaN electronics can reduce controller size by up to 50%, while the lightweight aluminum enclosure incorporates IP67 protection for operation in demanding environments. Low-noise, low-vibration motor control supports stable flight and payload performance, and the available control and connectivity options enable integration with professional unmanned aircraft architectures used across defense, government, public safety, and emergency response operations.
