ISS Aerospace has joined industry body Make UK Defence to expand its domestic manufacturing capacity and strengthen long-term relationships across the British defence supply chain.
The company designs, manufactures, and flies uncrewed platforms in the UK, including the Sensus range of aerial and ground systems, the ISSOS WASP, and the HAL10 Launcher. Every platform relies directly on the technical skills of British engineers and the capacity of domestic suppliers, an operational structure the company intends to maintain as production expands.
The move comes amid rising demand for uncrewed systems across the defence sector. Meeting this demand from within the UK requires not only strong engineering capabilities, but also an industrial base capable of scaling through long-term supply chain partnerships rather than isolated, one-off orders.
Make UK Defence serves as the representative organisation for national defence manufacturing, bringing together manufacturers, primes, small and medium enterprises, parliamentarians, and the Ministry of Defence. Working within this network, ISS Aerospace plans to invest early in British suppliers across the uncrewed systems supply chain and collaborate with primes and peer manufacturers to advance platforms from development into volume production.
The engagement also focuses on supporting the specialized engineering and manufacturing capabilities needed to preserve and grow skilled jobs within British communities. Through its membership, ISS Aerospace intends to provide an uncrewed systems perspective to support Make UK Defence’s broader case for ongoing investment in sovereign UK manufacturing.
