Beechat has formed an exclusive U.S. partnership with GoTAK LLC, a leader in advanced situational awareness and tactical communications, to sell and support the Kaonic 1S, Beechat’s next-generation mesh radio redefining resilient and decentralized communications.
Under the agreement, GoTAK, which is based in Virginia, will serve as the exclusive U.S. distributor and integration partner for the Kaonic 1S.
The Kaonic 1S is a first purpose-built mesh radio based entirely on the Reticulum protocol, an open-source framework that uses cryptographic security to enable autonomous, peer-to-peer communication without relying on central infrastructure.
The Kaonic 1S supports up to 128 network hops, maintaining secure and persistent connectivity across challenging environments and vast terrains. Its target applications include operator communications, sensor integrations, and control for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) using MAVLink.
The device is powered by an STM32MP1 MPU running Yocto Linux, and it incorporates dual transceivers to deliver up to 4800 kbps throughput. It also features FPGA expansion sockets for waveform experimentation.
Beechat’s patent-pending Hop Sync™ technology provides adaptive synchronization and frequency agility, which enables low probability of intercept and low probability of detection performance. This openness, modularity and operational security advances mesh communications.
Through the partnership, GoTAK will manage U.S. distribution, integration, and support for the Kaonic 1S and its modular ecosystem, including the upcoming Vantage AI Module and FRX Wideband Module.
These planned modules are intended to extend the platform’s capabilities into AI-assisted edge inference, video encoding, and wideband MIMO operations, providing users with mission-specific network capabilities.
Víctor Manuel Vicente Terán, Chief Sales Officer and Co-Founder of Beechat, stated: “This partnership marks a major step forward in making secure, open, and interoperable mesh networking technology accessible to U.S. operators. GoTAK’s deep understanding of the ATAK ecosystem and extensive field experience make them the ideal partner to deliver and support the Kaonic 1S across defense, public safety, and commercial domains. Together, we are building the foundation for a more connected, resilient, and sovereign tactical communications network.”
The Kaonic 1S integrates with Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) environments via GoTAK’s bespoke plugin, allowing secure mesh data exchange, encrypted messaging, and real-time geolocation.
The device can also be combined with GoTAK’s TAKOS platform and its interoperability tools spanning Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), satellite, and sensor integration, positioning the Kaonic 1S as a key node in a rapidly deployable, multi-transport communications architecture.
Volume purchasing programs, OEM integration support, and developer kits for the Kaonic 1S are available exclusively through GoTAK LLC for U.S. government, commercial, and research clients.
