Kaonic 1S

The Kaonic 1S is an advanced dual‑transceiver tactical mesh radio tailored for defense and unmanned systems. Built on a rugged, embedded Linux core (STM32MP1 with Yocto), it delivers frequency‑agile, multi‑band MIMO communications across CE/RED‑compliant 868 MHz and FCC p.15 902–928 MHz, with dual transceivers and u.FL antenna ports.

With the optional “Kaonic FRX” frequency extender (300–2000 MHz, 1 W onboard or up to 8 W external PA), the device supports hybrid sub‑GHz and 2.4 GHz operation. Utilizing an FPGA‑driven open‑source PHY and LDPC/MMSE decoding, 2×2 or 4×4 MIMO enables aggregate throughput up to 16 Mbps at –92 dBm, while achieving receiver sensitivity down to –123 dBm.

Designed for resilient, off‑grid deployments, the Kaonic 1S runs the Reticulum mesh protocol for up to 128 hops, providing full end‑to‑end encryption and post‑quantum‑ready security through secure boot, hardware crypto acceleration, signed OTA updates, and future‑proof frequency‑hopping HopSync. Its passive cooling, USB‑C PD smart charging, and low‑power draw (~1.3 W RX, ~11.3 W TX) ensure endurance in harsh environments.

Operating between –40 °C and +85 °C with MIL‑STD‑461 EMI compliance and optional IP67 enclosure, it supports MAVLink and ATAK for drone and tactical integration. Fully manufactured in the UK/EU under an ITAR‑free, NDAA‑compliant supply chain, the Kaonic 1S provides transparent, sovereign communications with audit‑ready firmware and open‑source SDR.
