Tocaro Blue’s ProteusCore software is revolutionizing marine technology by turning conventional radar hardware into intelligent perception systems.
Designed for integration with existing platforms or as a foundation for future products, Tocaro Blue‘s ProteusCore leverages proprietary machine learning models to automatically detect, classify, and track objects in marine radar data, without manual tuning or human interpretation.
Developers can embed ProteusCore directly into radars, MFDs, autopilots, or other marine electronics via optimized C++ libraries or deploy it immediately using a ready-to-run executable with API access. The software identifies wake, marker/buoy, vessel, or land, while dynamically adjusting radar range and gain to improve target acquisition. Lightweight and CPU-efficient, ProteusCore complements electro-optical sensors and can further enhance performance with AIS data, navigational charts, or weekly lights lists.
Organized into three core modules, Autofocus, ML Object Detection, and Fusion & Tracking, ProteusCore transforms raw radar scanline data into precise, real-time tracking information. Tested on over 3 million samples across modern solid-state radars, the software ensures reliable, high-performance marine situational awareness.
Whether embedded in devices or deployed via Tocaro Blue’s Edge computer, used initially as a development kit for sea trialing and testing in stage one, ProteusCore provides developers with a scalable, machine-learning-driven solution for next-generation marine perception, before progressing to stage two software integration
