Power Distribution Units

Redundant power distribution for small, medium & large tactical UAVs

Our Power Distribution Units are designed to provide reliable and stable regulated power outputs for distribution to subsystems within small to medium-sized UAVs. Two variants are available, taking in unregulated battery voltages from 24 to 60 VDC and delivering either 900 or 1800W of total output power.

900W PDU

The 900W PDU offers four independent power supply outputs, with full redundancy provided on three (including a low-power 5V output) to ensure maximum safety and reliability for critical drone operations. The 1800W variant offers eight outputs – two each for avionics, servos, payloads, and low-power – with full redundancy provided on the avionics, servo, and low-power supplies.

All units can be monitored via RS232 serial or CAN to provide comprehensive reporting of critical parameters, and are housed in a rugged IP67-rated enclosure to ensure reliable operation in harsh military and defense environments.

2000W Generator Control Unit

Power generation & engine starting for small to medium-sized military UAVs

The Generator Control Unit (GCU) is designed to be combined with our Power Distribution Units to form a complete UAV power supply solution that handles electrical power generation, battery management, power distribution, and redundancy for critical subsystems. It provides a main 1000W output for powering vehicle electronics, as well as two separate 500W outputs for rapid in-flight recharging or onboard equipment powering. All outputs are powered by interleaved and spread-spectrum modulated DC-DC converters to ensure maximum performance under challenging EMI/RFI conditions.2000W Generator Control UnitThe rugged IP67-rated system can be monitored via RS-232 or CAN for comprehensive reporting of voltages, currents and internal temperatures.

Power Combiners

Critical dual power redundancy with reduced heat loss

1500W-Power-CombinerOur Ideal Diode Power Combiners allow you to combine two separate power sources such as drone batteries to create a redundant system that can be used for mission-critical subsystems such as ESCs. The highly efficient systems typically drop around ten times less voltage compared to regular power diodes, massively reducing power loss through heat dissipation.

The Power Combiners are available in 1500 or 5000W variants, and offer reverse polarity protection and tolerance of transient voltages of up to +100V.

60W Power Supply

Reliable redundant power for tactical UAV subsystems

60W Power SupplyOur lightweight and small form factor Redundant DC Power Supply has been designed to provide enhanced reliability for the most mission-critical UAV sub-systems, offering user-selectable 5, 12 or 16V output via an on-board switch. It can accept input voltages from 2.5 up to 50V, allowing connection of LiPo drone batteries up to 12S.

The system incorporates two identical DC-DC switching converters, each capable of delivering up to 3A continuously with up to 96% efficiency.

15S Battery Monitor & Balancer

Enhanced battery life and reliability for tactical UAS

15s Battery monitor and battery balancerThe 15S Battery Monitor & Battery Balancer transforms ordinary drone batteries into smart self-balancing power sources. Supporting 9 to 15S batteries with LiPo, LiS or LiFe chemistries, the compact precision instrument allows multi-cell batteries to operate more efficiently and reliably, and last for longer without replacement.

The unit sends comprehensive data, including internal state, voltages, currents and temperatures, to the UAV’s CAN bus, and two front-panel LEDs provide “go/no go” indication of battery balance and charge.

Engine starterThe UAV Engine Starter provides rapid and reliable starting of internal combustion engines without requiring the use of decompression valves. Compatible with drone engines up to 200 cc in size, it delivers maximum torque from standstill, and allows remote engine starting and in-flight restarting.

Propulsion System Test Cell

Comprehensive testing services for military UAV propulsion systems

Propulsion System Test CellWe have developed an ISO-668 containerized Propulsion System Test Cell for thorough long-term testing of UAV combustion engines and ancillary systems.

With modular capabilities and the option to test 10, 20 or 40kW UAV engines, it can be deployed at customer premises or other locations of your choice.

The containerized cell is equipped with separate test and analysis rooms with noise-dampening walls, exhaust suction systems, and cooling systems. It can be configured to provide measurement and test of a wide range of parameters, including power, torque, RPM, temperature, fuel consumption, and much more.
