UAV Navigation–Grupo Oesía recently hosted the XXVII Armed Forces General Staff Course from the Spanish Center for Advanced National Defense Studies (CESEDEN) at its San Sebastián de los Reyes facilities.
The delegation included over thirty future officers from the Spanish Armed Forces and allied nations, including the United States, Portugal, and South Korea. Led by Navy Commander José Ramón Cuartero Lorenzo, the group explored advanced guidance, navigation, and control solutions for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The visit served to highlight the systems currently delivering technological capabilities to unmanned platforms on a global scale.
The host team included Carlos Lázaro Echavarría, Head of the Commercial Department at UAV Navigation, alongside various department leaders. Representing Grupo Oesía, Brigadier General César Sáenz de Santa María joined the visit to reinforce institutional ties and strategic collaboration between the industrial sector and the Ministry of Defense.
During the technical sessions, attendees engaged with the company’s engineering leads regarding the application of flight control solutions in technically demanding scenarios, specifically focusing on GNSS-denied environments. These technologies are designed to ensure operational efficiency and safety for UAS operating in complex theaters.
The meeting underscores the role of Grupo Oesía as a benchmark in the Spanish aeronautical sector, focusing on the development of innovative technologies intended to strengthen technological sovereignty for Spain, Europe, and allied nations. By providing first-hand insight into strategic projects, the company continues to position itself as a key partner in the advancement of autonomous defense capabilities.
