Full vehicle assembly of the Mobile Strike Force Vehicle is officially underway at Textron Systems’ manufacturing facility in Slidell, Louisiana, where 65 units are being built for delivery to Ukraine.
The restart of the active manufacturing line follows months of preparation, coordination, and facility readiness to meet production demands. Work at the Slidell plant encompasses the complete manufacturing lifecycle, including fabrication, welding, systems integration, and full vehicle testing, structured to maintain quality across high-tempo, high-volume production schedules.
The Mobile Strike Force Vehicle is based on the established COMMANDO Select platform, a vehicle family known for its survivability, mobility, and reliability in challenging operating environments. Textron Systems has manufactured and fielded advanced armored ground vehicles for global military operations for more than six decades.
The production program relies on a mature industrial base and a workforce with deep hands-on vehicle assembly experience, including personnel who previously manufactured earlier generations of COMMANDO vehicles. The 65 armored platforms being produced for Ukraine are designed to provide defensive ground forces with enhanced protection and operational agility on the battlefield.
