The configurable platform allows developers to select and evaluate cameras, sensors, filters and lenses according to application requirements, helping identify which spectral bands provide useful information before the final system architecture is established.
SpectroCam 2™ supports UV, visible and NIR camera options and uses an eight-position rotating filter wheel fitted with user-swappable, hard-coated interference filters. Developers can compare alternative center wavelengths and bandwidths alongside sensor response, resolution, frame rate, field of view, lens selection and illumination, allowing sensor and filter choices to be evaluated together as the configuration is refined. This supports changes where realistic operating conditions show that the original configuration needs adjustment.
Torrent Photonics can also design and manufacture custom hard-coated interference filters in-house using optical coating and photolithography, with specifications developed around center wavelength, bandwidth, transmission, blocking range and physical dimensions. Filters identified during evaluation can be produced for the required spectral band, installed in the existing filter wheel and used to inform an application-specific OEM design. Fixed-filter cameras, tunable filters and filter-wheel configurations can also be considered according to requirements such as the number of bands, spectral spacing, imaging speed and operating environment.
Once testing has established the required sensor, filters, optics and performance specifications, Torrent Photonics can carry the confirmed configuration into optical and mechanical customization, systems development, assembly and production. SpectroCam 2™ supports development for applications including security, defense, surveillance, machine vision, industrial inspection and scientific imaging, with the final configuration depending on the target feature, wavelength range, operating conditions and imaging requirements.
