The RAM-200 from Xeos by Satlink, a Canadian leader in rugged telemetry and tracking solutions, delivers a satellite-enabled alarm system purpose-built for the world’s most demanding conditions.
The RAM-200 (Remote Alarm Monitor) is a compact, rugged unit (6.4″ × 6.4″ × 5.2″) engineered to detect and report unauthorized vehicle movement or intrusion in remote operational areas. Leveraging the Iridium satellite network, the RAM-200 ensures global coverage, making it effective in off-grid theaters where traditional communications infrastructure is absent or unreliable.
When a connected sensor is triggered, the RAM-200 immediately transmits an alert via Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD). Notifications can be delivered directly to command via email, and through the XeosOnline™ service, forwarded as SMS to personnel in the field. This dual-layer communication ensures that critical alerts reach the right people, wherever they are.
Key Features & Capabilities
- Multi-sensor integration – Supports up to four independent sensors, allowing for tailored monitoring setups such as motion, intrusion, or tamper detection.
- Flexible power options – Operates on internal or external battery packs, powering both the sensors and satellite transmitter. Deployment life can reach up to one year under typical usage conditions.
- Rugged performance – Operational temperature range of -20 °C to +50 °C, built to withstand diverse climates.
- Customizable alerts – Using RAM Console software, users can configure event types, escalation paths, and reporting intervals.
- Compact and portable – Small footprint ensures easy installation in vehicles, outposts, or mobile defense platforms.
Applications in Defense and Security
The RAM-200 is suited for border security operations, forward operating bases, covert surveillance, and vehicle monitoring in contested environments. Its ability to operate independently for long durations reduces the need for frequent maintenance, while its satellite-based reporting ensures uninterrupted monitoring across the globe.
By integrating seamlessly with Xeos’ broader portfolio of beacons, data relays, and tracking systems, the RAM-200 extends situational awareness into the field, protecting personnel, vehicles, and mission-critical assets.
Xeos’ RAM-200 delivers satellite-enabled alarm monitoring with multi-sensor integration, long deployment life, and global Iridium coverage, ensuring reliable vehicle and asset protection in remote or contested defense environments.
