The Petrel X Remote Head is a high-reliability AIS microbeacon engineered for short-range asset tracking and retrieval in defense operations. Functioning as an AIS Aid to Navigation (AtoN)-type transmitter, it automatically broadcasts its GPS position to surrounding AIS receivers, displaying directly on nearby vessel chartplotters without the need for proprietary infrastructure, external software, or communications subscriptions. This direct integration with standard AIS systems enables precise recovery of mission-critical equipment in constrained maritime or littoral zones.
Rated to 6000 meters, the Petrel X Remote Head maintains operational integrity under extreme pressure. Its titanium and glass enclosure offers long-term corrosion resistance, while a sleep mode conserves power when submerged.
The remote head design allows for flexible placement separate from the power source, ideal for platforms with challenging geometry or tight integration envelopes. Full configuration is supported via a secure Bluetooth app, and power is supplied externally.
