The Petrel X Relay is a ruggedized, AIS-compatible data relay designed to enhance tactical asset recovery and tracking operations in subsea environments. Engineered for defense and maritime applications requiring short-range vessel awareness, it autonomously receives AIS signals from nearby craft and transmits its own position to vessel-based chartplotters.
This automatic visibility eliminates the need for supplementary equipment or software, ensuring streamlined deployment in critical missions. The Petrel X Relay transmits precise location data to a designated CPU in order to trigger a predetermined response.
Built into a pressure-tolerant titanium and glass enclosure rated to 6000 meters, the device maintains exceptional reliability under extreme conditions. Its low-power architecture includes a submerged sleep mode to preserve energy during inactive periods, while an external power supply and remote head configuration allow for flexible integration on subsea platforms or defense payloads.
Featuring RS-232 communication, a Bluetooth setup interface, and no dependency on external data plans, the Petrel X Relay represents a compact, intelligent solution for uncrewed recovery missions, subsea surveillance, and mission-critical asset tracking.
