STELION Heading (STELION-SHS) provides military navigation systems with a celestial heading reference for both day and night operations. Its optical measurements offer an alternative to magnetometers, allowing defense platforms to obtain heading and orientation information without dependence on the local magnetic environment.
The sensor delivers 0.1° yaw accuracy and complements GNSS-based navigation with an additional source of orientation data. A CMOS detector provides a 170° daytime field of view and a 40° nighttime field of view. Designed for resilience against electromagnetic interference, STELION-SHS is ideal for platforms operating in contested environments where reliable heading information is essential.
STELION-SHS’ compact, plug-and-play construction simplifies installation within existing platform architectures. Weighing less than 170 g and drawing no more than 3 W, STELION-SHS offers RS-422 communications and NMEA for production units. Users can request either 5 VDC or 12 VDC power supply options.
