Cutting-Edge Supercapacitor Technology

Our Production Process

Our unique production process is designed to ensure high levels of scalability and automation, resulting in increased production speed and cost-effectiveness compared to batch processes. We utilize three main stages:

Slot-Die Coating

Electrode materials are formulated into a water-based slurry, which is pumped into a slot-die and coated as four activated carbon stripes on an aluminium foil. The coated aluminium passes through a ten meter long dryer to remove all the water, and is then wound up on a roll at the end of the coating line.

Roll-to-Roll Assembly

The coated aluminium foil undergoes multiple conversion steps, which involve adding barrier foils and a separator. This results in two electrodes sandwiching the separator, all contained within a layer of barrier foil. At this stage we can perform a variety of additional processes such as lamination, slitting, and die-cutting, allowing us to create custom solutions to meet specific customer requirements.

Quality Control

We place the utmost importance on not only maintaining but continuously improving the quality of our products. To achieve this, we carry out inspection of incoming material, collection of critical in-line data during the manufacturing process, and testing of the final product according to relevant industry standards.

S-Power Supercapacitors

Our S-Power supercapacitor range includes some of the thinnest and most compact offerings in the world, with a high degree of bendability that allows them to be installed into a variety of space-constrained form factors and unique geometries.

With low leakage current and excellent cycling and power capabilities, they are ideal for applications that require repeated rapid charging and discharging. The current product portfolio includes:

S-Power 2SS-Power 2S – Larger-capacitance option, ideal as a short-term energy storage component for energy harvesting solutions.

      • 30 x 42 x 0.5 mm
      • 1.2 F capacitance
      • 2.7V rated voltage

S-Power 2RS-Power 2R – Ultra-miniature form factor, designed for short-term energy storage in active smart cards and also highly suited for battery support.

      • 19 x 22 x 0.40 mm
      • 60 mF capacitance
      • 2.7V rated voltage
