EPULSE

Active Electric Sensing Systems & Software

EPULSE is ELWAVE’s active electric sensing product family, dedicated to high-resolution seabed electrical mapping, target detection and characterization in complex subsea environments.

• Increased probability of detection and reduction of false alarms in acoustically cluttered and challenging environments
• Detection and characterization of metallic and non-metallic laid or buried underwater targets, including mines, weapons and hidden objects
• Coupling of underwater electric imaging with acoustic imagery for enhanced target classification, increased confidence level and early rejection of non-mine-like objects
• Enhanced discrimination between metallic and composite targets, including buried threats
• Integration on AUVs, ROVs and ROTVs for seabed mapping missions, or fixed deployment at strategic choke points and quay walls for underwater intruder and combat diver detection in SONAR blind zones

ESENSE

Passive Electric Field Sensing Systems & Software

ESENSE is ELWAVE’s passive underwater electric field sensing family for detecting, monitoring and characterising underwater electric signatures. It combines sensitivity below 10 pV/m at 1 Hz with a DC–2,000 Hz bandwidth and sampling rates up to 4 kHz, supporting operations in acoustically noisy environments and adverse acoustic propagation conditions.

Key defence and maritime security applications include:

• Counter-UxV and underwater intruder detection through propulsion system electric signatures
• Anti-submarine warfare, including towed-array and sonobuoy integration
• Electromagnetic signature intelligence and management
• Mine countermeasures through electrical activity checks on sonar contacts
• Passive surveillance supporting port and critical underwater infrastructure security
• Subsea cable mapping and tracking

Robust titanium dry electrodes and self-calibration support persistent deployment. ESENSE is available for OEM integration or as an assembled ESENSE 300 system with a 300 m-rated aluminium housing. A 6,000 m titanium version is available on request.

ESENSE 300 is supplied with OWLIA data acquisition and analysis software, offering real-time visualisation and replay, three-axis electric field plots and spectrograms, demodulation, digital filtering and CSV export.
