Teledyne FLIR OEM has introduced Prism Ground ISR, a mission-ready software stack developed for ground-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications.
The new software extends the company’s Prism portfolio from aerial drone threat detection into ground-based tactical perception. Building on the recently announced Prism C-UAS, Prism Ground ISR applies advanced computational imaging and AI-driven perception to ground platforms, supporting rapid detection, classification, and tracking of a wide range of targets, including specific military vehicle classes.
Designed for complex security environments, the software is intended to support missions such as border surveillance, force protection, and critical infrastructure defense. It combines patented image enhancement with advanced AI models to improve target recognition and reduce false positives in cluttered environments.
Prism Ground ISR uses turbulence mitigation, dehazing, and super-resolution to improve infrared visibility. These computational imaging capabilities are combined with AI-powered detection to extend detection range, improve track persistence, and help operators respond earlier and with greater confidence. Separate acquisition and tracking pipelines support earlier detection and more accurate tracking of small, fast, or maneuvering targets.
Jared Faraudo, Vice President of Product Management at Teledyne FLIR OEM, commented, “Just as Prism C-UAS transformed how we detect small, fast-moving drones, Prism Ground ISR marks a significant advancement in ground-based AI target recognition. By integrating visible and infrared thermal data, including fine-grained military vehicle classification, we are turning raw data into a decisive tactical advantage.”
The software has been trained using Teledyne FLIR OEM’s real and synthetic electro-optical and infrared data. It supports up to 15 object classes out of the box, while Prism AIMMGen enables additional target classes to be added rapidly using synthetic data as mission requirements change.
For integration, Prism Ground ISR runs on NVIDIA Orin NX and AGX and supports Teledyne FLIR OEM’s Boson+ and Neutrino camera families, including continuous zoom models. It is also compatible with select third-party infrared and electro-optical sensors, allowing it to support multi-sensor configurations.
The Prism Ground ISR SDK is designed to reduce integration risk and help teams field new capabilities faster. Teledyne FLIR OEM states that the software can be deployed across a wide range of tactical ground architectures, supported by global-scale production and an experienced technical services team.
