Galvion has released its new Batlskin CaimanĀ® UL (Ultra-Light), an ultra-lightweight next-gen helmet solution that minimizes weight and bulk, as well as offering maximum protection and performance.
This Caiman UL is the latest addition to Galvionās flagship CaimanĀ® suite of head systems, which has been adopted by the demanding global military and tactical teams.
It offers all the performance of the CaimanĀ® TL (Tactical Light) in a lighter weight. The Caiman UL comes in five sizes to provide elite special operations operators with a very light, comfortable, and stable helmet.
Galvionās new Caiman also features Galvionās 3-hole shroud, using ballistic mounting hardware and providing high stability for thermal and night vision devices.
The low-profile shroud includes rubber bumpers to prevent rattle multiple integrated anchor points for secure bungee storage and paracord pass-through, and an interchangeable metal shroud plate to support a range of NVG and future headborne accessories.
The Caiman UL features Galvionās most advanced APEX liner system paired with a redesigned harness. Incorporating over seven years of end-user feedback, the latest harness includes tougher camlocks for improved strap tension and a reinforced anchor system to withstand operational stress.
A recontoured, wider chin cup provides a more natural, secure, and stable fit, while a surface-mounted buckle allows easier donning and doffing. As a result, the Caiman UL benefits from a robust APEX system optimized for fit, comfort, and stability, particularly when operating with Night Vision and VAS equipment.
Todd Stirtzinger, CEO at Galvion stated, āOur Caiman head systems are recognized around the world as the most comfortable performance helmet out there. We developed the system over a number of years in conjunction with Special Operations teams, but in recent years, we have seen our flagship Caiman TL adopted by conventional forces in far greater quantities, across multiple NATO countries.ā
āThe Caiman UL pushes the boundaries for elite teams where literally every ounce counts. It gives them the performance they need and the comfort that, candidly, they didnāt know that they could expect, in the lightest weight available. Our CaimanĀ® UL really is the best, for the best.ā
The Caiman UL is currently in trials with Special Operations customers and is available for contract, with expected commercial availability in 2026.
Galvionās new helmet, along with the companyās wider range of head systems and power and data solutions will be showcased at booth #643 at AUSA 2025 in Washington, D.C.
