Allen-Vanguard has officially entered the South American market following the receipt of multi-million dollar orders for its vehicle-based and manportable electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems.
The contract involves the deployment of the EQUINOX NG and the SCORPION 2, providing a major capability uplift for an undisclosed nation operating in high-risk environments. These systems are designed to deliver enhanced protection against Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs) and mitigate the increasing use of drones for intelligence gathering or lethal effects. With over 20 years of expertise, Allen-Vanguard specializes in defeating Radio Frequency (RF) based extremist threats through technology that has been operationally proven on the battlefield and in peace-keeping missions.
The EQUINOX NG is a sophisticated vehicle-based system built on agile technical architecture and global Electronic Warfare (EW) hardware standards. This design ensures compliance with major programs and allows for “ever-greening” capabilities. Its physical format is highly scalable, enabling configuration for armored vehicle fits, VIP convoy protection, or static fixed sites. Complementing this is the SCORPION 2, which shares the same technical heritage but is housed in a backpack for patrol-based operations, though it remains versatile enough for vehicle or static use.
To ensure long-term operational success, the contract includes a full support package comprising training for users and technicians alongside mission fill development. This includes the deployment of Field Service Representatives to foster indigenous ECM capability and provide reach-back to a Threat Management Team. These RF experts optimize algorithms specific to the user’s regional threats, ensuring the equipment remains effective as tactics evolve.
Bobby Strawbridge, President Allen-Vanguard, said: “This is an important milestone in Allen-Vanguard’s history, breaking into the South American market. We are operationally proven with NATO countries globally and have been trusted by peace-keeping forces in the MENA region for many years. Our systems are not only market leading in relation to their technology and capability but our support packages also ensure purchasing nations improve their wider ECM capability and remain updated with the latest algorithms and software to maintain their protection.”
