Allen-Vanguard has secured new contracts worth over $3 million to supply vehicle-based and man-portable Electronic Countermeasure (ECM) systems to two African nations.
The agreement introduces the 3XXX vehicle-based system alongside the SCORPION 2 highly adaptable man-portable ECM system to enhance the force protection and counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) capabilities of the receiving countries. As specialists in platform-agnostic RF electronic warfare, counter-RCIED, and counter-UAS solutions, Allen-Vanguard utilizes over 25 years of operational experience to design and deploy systems tailored for high-risk environments. These integrated technologies allow public safety, security, and defence organisations worldwide to detect, disrupt, and protect personnel across complex battlespaces. Additionally, the company will be discussing these RF protection capabilities at Eurosatory, Hall 5a – DE345.

Specific deployment plans and the identities of the purchasing nations remain undisclosed due to security risks and the sensitive nature of the operational theatres. However, these initial orders mark a major force protection capability uplift for the operators. The systems will deliver enhanced individual, vehicle, and vulnerable point protection to security forces navigating environments with high concentrations of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RC-IEDs), while also mitigating aggressive ISTAR activities and lethal effects from Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS) such as drones.
To ensure sustained mission readiness, the contracts feature a comprehensive wrap-around support package that includes training for users, technicians, and mission-fill development. Field Service Representatives will be deployed to assist in building indigenous ECM capabilities and provide direct reach back to the Threat Management Team. This specialized group of RF experts optimizes algorithms to combat evolving, region-specific threats, facilitating necessary updates to software, tactics, techniques, and procedures to maximize operator safety.
Stuart Wilson, Director Business Development & Marketing at Allen-Vanguard, said, “We have a long history of providing force protection capability to African nations and associated peace-keeping forces, and we are extremely pleased to secure these new contracts to maintain and enhance this important relationship with the region. Unfortunately, the significant threat to security forces in Africa from UXOs, IEDs, RC-IEDs and other RF hazards remains high, and has only been exacerbated by the growing threat from UAS.
“Our systems are not only market leading in relation to their technology and capability, but our support packages also ensure purchasing nations improve their wider ECM capability and remain updated with the latest algorithms and software to maintain their protection. For this reason, we are trusted and operationally proven with NATO countries and peace-keeping forces globally.”
Allen Vanguard is showcasing its RF protection capabilities at Eurosatory, Hall 5a – DE345, June 15-19.
