Aitech has announced the availability of two new SOSA-aligned single board computers designed to integrate hybrid multi-core X86 architecture with dedicated neural processing for real-time AI applications.
The new U-C8600 and U-C8601 represent Aitech’s first rugged systems based on Intel 14th Generation Core Ultra technology. These units offer approximately 2.5 times the CPU performance and twice the GPU performance of their predecessor, the U-C850X. This architecture is specifically engineered to accelerate AI at the tactical edge while providing power optimization and reliable operation in harsh environments.
The two models are tailored for specific operational needs within ground and avionic missions. The U-C8600 is optimized for I/O-intensive workloads, while the U-C8601 focuses on compute-intensive tasks. Both systems support ultra-high-speed connectivity, including 40 Gbps Ethernet and PCIe Gen4, alongside large memory arrays and advanced security features.
“With SBCs specialized for both SOSA I/O-intensive and compute-intensive demands, Aitech is providing defense contractors and platform integrators with cutting-edge computing solutions needed to deliver intelligent, networked systems that keep them adaptable, innovative and ready for the challenges ahead,” said Boris Baer, CTO, Aitech. “These next-gen ruggedized SBCs combine high-performance computing with integrated AI and data processing acceleration, high-speed on-board connectivity and networking capabilities to turn data into real-time intelligence.”
By integrating compute, GPU, and AI capabilities into a compact form factor, these computers address the demand for high-performance connectivity that accelerates data collection and decision-making while meeting tight size, weight, power, and cost constraints.
Aitech, which has over 40 years of experience as an independent open-systems innovator, provides these mission-proven building blocks for integrated computing across sea, land, air, and space domains. The U-C8600 and U-C8601 are currently available for mission development.
