Teksam Company manufactures deployable mast systems for defence and security applications through its TekMast, Teklite and Clark Masts brands.
Developed and produced in Belgium, the company’s mast technologies are designed to support military communications, radar integration and surveillance operations across demanding operational environments.
The TekMast VMS-X, or Vertical Mechanical Sectional Xtreme mast, is designed for defence applications requiring increased operating height, heavy payload support and field deployment without dependence on large support equipment.
Mechanical Sectional Mast Architecture
The VMS-X uses a sectional mechanical configuration intended to support elevated communications and ISR payloads while remaining transportable for tactical operations.
Designed for deployment in environments where terrain, vegetation or infrastructure may limit visibility and signal coverage, the system provides elevated positioning capability for radar systems, electro-optical payloads and communications equipment.
Synchronized Guying System
A key feature of the VMS-X is its synchronized deployment arrangement, which raises the mast sections and guy lines simultaneously during installation.
The system uses Dyneema support lines rather than traditional steel cables, reducing overall weight while maintaining high tensile strength. The associated winch mechanism operates with reduced acoustic output, supporting deployment scenarios where low-noise operation may be advantageous.
Field assembly is simplified through the use of a one-piece tripod structure, reducing the number of separate components that personnel must assemble during setup.
Elevated Payload Support
The VMS-X can achieve operational heights of up to 30 meters while supporting larger surveillance and communications payloads.
According to Teksam Company, a trained four-person team can fully deploy the mast in under 40 minutes. The structure is engineered to maintain stability in wind conditions reaching 130 km/h while carrying radar systems, multi-sensor payloads and other heavier mission equipment.
Designed for Harsh Operational Conditions
The VMS-X was developed in line with MIL-STD-810G environmental testing standards associated with military applications.
The system is intended to operate across extreme temperature ranges and in environments where exposure to dust, sand, shock and vibration may affect conventional equipment performance. These characteristics support use in remote and demanding operational conditions.
Tactical Mast Technology for ISR and Communications Missions
The TekMast VMS-X expands the company’s deployable mast portfolio with a platform focused on elevated positioning capability, heavy payload support and transportable field deployment.
Designed for radar, communications and surveillance applications, the system provides defence organizations with a mechanical mast solution intended for demanding ISR and tactical communications operations.
