Oscilloquartz develops production-ready technologies designed to maintain precise timing in environments where satellite signals are unavailable or compromised.
Oscilloquartz provides optical cesium clocks, Satellite Time and Location (STL), and White Rabbit timing systems, which are in service across defense, aviation, financial, and energy sectors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as NIS2.
The company’s field-deployed optical cesium clocks provide sub-100ns accuracy and more than 100 days of holdover without satellite input. These systems are currently active in operational networks, offering organizations an alternative to assembling backup timing systems from multiple third-party components.
Timing Capabilities and Performance
Oscilloquartz solutions maintain performance through long-duration holdover, rapid recovery, and the ability to detect and mitigate interference such as jamming and spoofing. Clocks can sustain ±100ns accuracy for periods of 14, 40, 55, and more than 100 days without GNSS.
While enhanced primary reference time clock (ePRTC) is the technical classification, the systems are designed to address requirements across multiple industries where uninterrupted timing is critical. The company describes the approach as analogous to power backup, where a generator provides continuity when the primary grid is unavailable.
Integration with Existing Systems
Oscilloquartz platforms are designed for compatibility with synchronization protocols including PTP, NTP, and SyncE. Support is also provided for sovereign time scale generation and GNSS-backup-as-a-service (GBaaS). This enables integration into established infrastructures without large-scale replacement of existing assets.
The most recent additions to the product line, the OSA 3200 SP and OSA 3250 ePRC, are engineered for extended holdover and low maintenance with an expected 10-year service life. Their compact form factors and reduced cost enable secure, high-precision timing across a wider range of operational environments.
Current Deployments
Oscilloquartz solutions are operational across critical infrastructure. In the United States, they are incorporated into an L3 Harris-led upgrade for the Federal Aviation Administration to support aviation resilience. Other deployments include energy providers, government networks, and financial institutions worldwide.
These installations demonstrate the availability of mission-ready, production-ready timing systems that operate independently of GNSS and are capable of meeting regulatory and operational requirements across multiple sectors.
