500-2 Smart Weapons Tester

The Next-Generation of handheld armament testing for modern aircraft & weapons systems

WilliamsRDM is the OEM of the WP500-2 Smart Weapons Tester, a next-generation handheld armament test set designed for modern and legacy aircraft. The WP500-2 consolidates multiple legacy testers into a single, rugged, flightline-qualified device, enabling rapid verification and fault isolation of aircraft-to-weapon electrical interfaces.

Supporting MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and smart weapons interfaces, the WP500-2 is fielded across multiple fighter platforms and directly supports Agile Combat Employment (ACE) by reducing setup time, logistics burden, and dependency on fixed test equipment, delivering reliable armament verification for any mission, anywhere.

This same handheld architecture provides a foundation for future laboratory and production applications, enabling safe, non-energetic verification of missile electrical interfaces outside of operational aircraft environments.

Armadillo I- & O-Level AME Tester

Rugged Alternate Mission Equipment tester for military aircraft

The Armadillo is a compact and rugged armament test system designed to troubleshoot a wide variety of Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) across multiple aircraft platforms.

With an intuitive interface, the unit allows new armaments to be easily added to the configuration, and features enhanced sequencing capabilities that enable test programs to run efficiently with minimal cable swapping.

The system’s robust design provides protection against many harsh environmental factors including moisture, humidity, sand and dust, salt atmosphere, UV radiation, and shock and vibration. Utilization of internal fans and low-power components ensure reliable operation and a reduced acoustic footprint.

Our DACTS kit is based around the 400-series Digital Voltage Detector (DVD), and is the preload tester solution of choice in 13 countries around the world and for leading aircraft programs such as the A-10, F-15, F-16 and F-35.

Offering reduced testing time and enhanced ease of use, the handheld 400-series features an easy-to-read LCD screen that is visible under any lighting conditions.

The DVD is environmentally sealed for protection against harsh environmental conditions, and utilizes flexible and robust cables with up to 75 lbs of strain relief.

Military-Grade Cable Assemblies & Wiring Harnesses

Rugged ATE-tested & flightline qualified cables

WilliamsRDM designs and manufactures mission-critical cable assemblies and wiring harnesses for aerospace ground support equipment, aircraft systems, weapons integration, and test environments. Qualified to 75 lbs tensile strength per cable leg and –54°C to +74°C operation, with EMI-shielded and non-shielded options, these assemblies are built for harsh operational conditions where reliable performance is essential.

As an AS9100D-certified OEM providing build-to-print and build-to-spec solutions, WilliamsRDM supports aircraft-to-weapon interfaces and test integration with low- to medium-rate production of complex assemblies incorporating military-standard connectors, helping reduce integration risk and minimize no-fault-found events across development, production, and sustainment.

WilliamsRDM has a long history of designing and manufacturing fielded handheld armament test equipment used to verify aircraft-to-weapon electrical interfaces across legacy and modern fighter platforms. This legacy family includes the ACPTS (WP440), DACTS (WP416), SVT (WP435), and the WP500-1 SmartDVD, each developed to support weapons integration, fault isolation, and sustainment activities in flightline and back-shop environments for the A-10, F-16, F-15.

These handheld testers were designed to replace multiple single-purpose test units with consolidated, portable solutions capable of performing continuity checks, voltage verification, and automated or user-defined test program sets (TPS). The design, testing, and field experience from these legacy handheld systems formed the technical foundation for the development of the 500-2 Smart Weapons Tester.
