Aspherized Achromatic Lenses
Torrent Photonics’ aspherized achromatic lenses combine the color correction of achromats with the spherical aberration correction of aspheric optics. The two cemented elements are matched for color correction and modest RMS spot size, helping bridge the gap between standard achromats and aspheres.
A molded polymer aspheric surface is fused to the second surface of the doublet. This helps remove or reduce the wavefront errors found in ordinary achromats, while also increasing numerical aperture.
Typical applications include fiber optic focusing or collimation, image relay, scanning and high numerical aperture imaging.
