Doublet lenses for high-performance optical systems

Torrent Photonics’ achromatic doublet lenses are designed to focus two wavelengths, typically red and blue, on the same plane. The lenses help minimize chromatic and spherical aberration, using a multi-element design based on crown and flint glass elements.

Compared with singlet lenses, Torrent’s achromatic doublets provide improved off-axis performance and a focal length that is independent of aperture and operating wavelength. The negative second element compensates for the dispersion of the positive first element, providing stronger broadband performance than spherical singlets or aspheric lenses.

Achromatic doublet lenses are available with diameters from 3 to 160 mm.
