Modular & scalable energy solution for military & defense applications

The SCIO Brick® offers industry-leading energy density in a compact and lightweight footprint. The modular and scalable architecture allows multiple bricks to be combined together in parallel and arranged flexibly, allowing maximum efficient use of the available space. Each brick can be individually replaced, allowing rapid deployment and easy plug-and play repair.

Thanks to this modular construction, large-scale power systems based on the SCIO Brick® can be easily integrated with minimal requirements at the installation site. They can be simply moved into place using a pallet truck or other suitable vehicle, and connected to existing power grids and energy management systems.

The SCIO Brick® is also ideal for smaller scale use cases such as unmanned vehicles and portable equipment, offering rapid field-swapping for maximum operational readiness with minimal downtime. The low-voltage architecture ensures high levels of covertness and safety during tactical missions, with zero emissions and minimal heat signature.

The SCIO Brick® platform has been engineered to ensure the utmost in reliability and performance even under the challenging conditions of austere defense environments. Key design features include:

  • Temperature Stability – continuous monitoring of thermal conditions to protect against overheating or cold-induced performance loss

The platform is virtually maintenance-free with a lifetime of up to 3000 cycles. SCIO Brick® is compliant with numerous global safety and transport regulations including UN 38.3 and IEC 62133-2, ensuring peace of mind and hassle-free logistics.

Robust fire propagation prevention

Designed from the ground up with safety as a core imperative, the SCIO Brick® incorporates an advanced BMS that utilizes cell-level monitoring and real-time diagnostic information to detect early warning signs of failure, allowing preventative action to be taken before critical temperatures are reached.

Each unit is equipped with an integrated thermal runaway shield that effectively prevents fire propagation between cells even under highly demanding conditions. This capability has been rigorously tested and designed to exceed standard industry safety benchmarks, allowing us to provide high-energy Li-NMC packs that exhibit the reliability of LFP solutions.
