Kuantek’s FPGA IP core for thermal vision cameras provides a range of advanced image enhancement features, including:
Video Capture – converts 16-bit native 640×512 video to AXI4 video streaming format
Two-Point NUC (Non-Uniformity Correction) – eliminates thermal detector irregularities caused by heating, using gain and offset values obtained from two reference images
Bad Pixel Detection Replacement – uses uses median filtering to eliminate bad pixels that cannot be removed via two-point NUC
Scene-Based NUC – prevents horizontal-vertical fixed-pattern noise caused by camera heating
Denoising – removes existing spatial and temporal noises in the thermal camera
Color Palettes – applies palettes such as Iron-bow, Rainbow, Black-Hot and White-Hot to monochrome thermal camera images
