Iridium Messaging Transport® (IMT®) provides two-way satellite messaging for data packets from one to 100,000 bytes. This higher message capacity supports more detailed edge data, including images and audio clips, while a publish-and-subscribe architecture allows messages to be organized by topic with configurable priority, persistence and queue size.
IMT is integrated with Iridium CloudConnect for delivery into AWS. Messages are carried over an encrypted private connection and placed in Amazon Simple Queue Service within the customer’s Virtual Private Cloud, where they can enter serverless and automated workflows. The service is designed for cloud-connected industrial IoT, machine-to-machine communications and distributed systems that need dependable data exchange outside terrestrial coverage.
