Iridium Extreme® PTT combines push-to-talk and satellite telephony in one rugged handset. PTT mode supports secure one-to-many group communications across user-defined coverage areas, while telephony mode provides one-to-one voice calling. AES-256 encryption ensures secure operation, and the IP65- and MIL-STD-810F-rated construction enables the unit to withstand harsh weather and field conditions.
The web-based Iridium Command Center allows administrators to place users into talkgroups, adjust coverage areas and manage access as missions change. The handset can also interoperate with other push-to-talk and land mobile radio systems, helping connect satellite and terrestrial teams. GPS, a programmable SOS button, a weather-resistant keypad and a wind-resistant microphone support practical use in deployed operations.
