Iridium CloudConnect links Iridium-connected IoT devices directly with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Messages are converted into JSON and delivered through Amazon Simple Queue Service within the customer’s Virtual Private Cloud, allowing satellite data to enter existing cloud applications without a custom gateway or a separate internet-facing integration layer.
Traffic is carried through private carrier networks and a dedicated connection between Iridium and AWS rather than the public internet. Cross-account authentication and a lightweight deployment script simplify setup, and the cloud-native architecture can scale from individual field devices to fleets containing millions of endpoints. The same interface can support additional Iridium messaging options as operational data requirements change.
