The Iridium Certus™ 9704 is a compact module developed for Iridium Messaging Transport applications. It supports two-way messages of up to 100 KB, allowing connected devices to send richer data such as images, audio clips and detailed sensor records as well as short status updates. Measuring 31.5 x 42.0 x 3.8 mm and weighing 12 g, it brings cloud-connected satellite IoT to space- and weight-constrained equipment.
The surface-mount design can be installed directly onto a host board without additional cabling or connectors. Serial, SPI, GPIO, GNSS pass-through, RF and digital interfaces provide flexibility for integration with sensors and processing hardware, while low active and idle power requirements support remote deployments. Messages can be delivered through Iridium CloudConnect into AWS-based workflows for storage, analysis and operational response.
