Iridium Burst® is a one-way broadcast service that can send data in near real time to tens, hundreds or millions of enabled devices. A transmission can cover the entire globe or a selected geographic area, allowing alerts, instructions and other time-sensitive information to be distributed simultaneously across dispersed teams, platforms and remote systems.
Broadcasts can be restricted to closed user groups, and only devices assigned to the intended recipient group can unscramble the data. Compact, low-SWaP receive-only hardware supports quiet operation without a return transmission, and the data-agnostic service can carry different message types. These characteristics support defense applications that require secure, rapid and consistent dissemination across large operating areas.
