The Iridium 9604 Module combines Iridium Short Burst Data, LTE-M cellular connectivity and multi-constellation GNSS in one compact unit, with a miniature form factor that can reduce host-board space by more than 60 percent compared with separate components. The module provides a common foundation for global IoT devices that need satellite and terrestrial communications together with onboard positioning.
Developers retain independent control of all three subsystems and can implement routing, coverage selection and failover according to cost, performance and power requirements. AT commands and a unified host and power architecture simplify development, while separate RF connections support the communications and GNSS functions. The positioning subsystem supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou for location-aware tracking and monitoring applications.
