The Iridium 9603 Module is a miniature satellite transceiver designed for adding global two-way Short Burst Data messaging to low-SWaP systems. The single-board unit measures 31.5 x 29.6 x 8.1 mm and weighs 11.4 g, allowing it to be embedded in compact trackers, sensors, unmanned equipment and other remote devices. Its low average message-transfer power supports battery-operated and long-duration deployments.
The module can be integrated with a host microprocessor, GPS receiver and digital or analog I/O to collect and exchange application-specific data. It sends and receives short packets through Iridium’s global network, allowing operators to monitor asset status, retrieve sensor information and issue remote commands without cellular coverage or local ground infrastructure.
